The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Dinner at Citrus. The food was the best we had all week & the atmosphere was wonderful. That's it for the 'moon!

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Enjoying one last drink at the Theatre Bar & Lounge before dinner. They made a great blue pina colada. There were 8 bars in all, don't worry, we visited every one at least once. :)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Again, our last night. :( Us in front of the hotel by the fountain outside the lobby. Nice & tan, huh!

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

All dressed up for our last night. We have reservations at "Citrus", their Italian restaurant. They had 5 restaurants, 3 required reservations.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Ocean World had a casino that just opened in Dec. 2006. This is the all tile mosiac by the front door to the casino.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott's favorite picture. :)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott enjoying the ocean breeze & green grass. This is one of my favorite pix

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Isn't it beautiful?!?

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott representing the U of I.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Our tummy's full after breakfast, we head for our room to change for the beach, a long day of lounging ahead of us.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scotty D. enjoying the beautiful day, how are we supposed to leave this for Iowa in March?!?

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Our resort gave us $20 to go try out Teddy's Island BBQ, so here we are. It was VERY good food, so was the Coke & Sprite in glass bottles! ;)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Teddy's Island BBQ. Supposedly he's a famous chef from Canada. It was a pretty cute looking place, right on the beach.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Hmm, Key West is pretty far...

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Tamara at the wall fountain - the edge of the spa. Our room is just a few stairs away.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

The Spa (where we got to hang out after our massages.)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

View of the marina. It's said that one of Donald Trump's boats is here...

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott relaxing a bit after our waterslide rides. Getting pretty tan!

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott going down waterslide.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Our resort had the "World's Largets Inflatable Waterslide"

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

At the beach. :)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

This pelican walked right up to us, begging for handouts. When it was done to us, it walked into the nearby bar, where they swiftly kicked it out.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

When we were finished snorkeling on Paradise Island, we got back in the boats for a ride through the Mangroves National Park & they dropped us off here at Punta Rusia for lunch.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Just finished snorkeling. The reef was huge, we stayed on the shallow side for about 1/2 hour, then we had a local guide that took us out on the other side of the reef into MUCH deeper waters.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

We took one day trip - a boat ride to "Paradise Island" for snorkeling. The snorkeling was fabulous, however this is ALL of Paradise Island - more like Paradise Sandbar.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott on a piece of coral soaking up some sun.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

What a beautiful beach! The water was so clear.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

We wandered away from "our beach" over a hill & found this beach. Completely void of people.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Tamara getting her a** kicked by a larger than expected wave. Nice of Scott to warn me or something, he said "Go out there & I'll take a picture while a wave crashes."

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

While we rested after our massage, they brought us fresh fruit & juice while we lay in the breeze overlooking the pool. This is the life!

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scott after his massage. We each chose the Deep Tissue Massage - I highly reccomend it. Ahhh...

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

The resort gave us each $50 credit to spend at Ocean World or at their Spa. As you can see we opted for the Spa.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

The hot tub in the ladies locker room at the Spa.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Our room. When we got there & checked in, our first room was icky. We were in it about an hour before we had enough issues with it to go to the front desk & complain. The immediately upgraded us to this room which was just completed in January of 2007. Much better. :)

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Little better pic of the main pool. Little tikki hut is swim up bar. My favorite drink was the Chi-Chi, Scott drank lots of Presidente Beer & Bloody Mary's.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

The main lobby.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Tamara at the main/upper pool. There were 7 pools total.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Waterfall from the upper pool to the middle pool.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Waterfall from the middle pool down to the kiddie pool.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

View from our balcony - if you look close, that's the ocean. Our resort was built into a hillside, so it's spread out & there were plenty of stairs. Took about 5 minutes to be at the beach - nice.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

View from front door of our room.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

The bar at the beach. The "Lovewrecked Bar". Named after the movie "Lovewrecked" which was filmed at our resort a few years ago.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Ocean World. (Not as nice knock off of Sea World). Was about a 5 minute walk from our resort. We didn't go.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

We headed to the beach, but it started to sprinkle, so I was a little chilly with the ocean breeze.

The Honeymoon - Dominican Republic

Scotts big foot, so you get to see it from our point of view.
